My education and training: I am a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#LH.60606873). I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. My training is in providing counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. I have completed a counseling internship at a therapeutic day treatment program operated by Fairfax Hospital in Kirkland, WA. This internship included clinical work with children, adolescents and families who were experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional/behavioral disorders, socio-economic stressors, medical issues and various forms of trauma and abuse.
My background: I have traveled a bit of a wandering path to get where I am today. I received my BA in Theology from Trinity Lutheran College in Everett, WA. Following this, I worked for 12 years as a private music teacher, specializing in classical piano instruction. I have also worked as a team-building facilitator, swimming lesson instructor and a barista. While my journey has taken me many places, I have come to see that these vastly different experiences are held together by my consistent desire to join others in the hard and rewarding process of making known what is unknown.
I am currently seeing clients in my private counseling practice in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle.
In my non-professional life: I love drawing and painting, baking without recipes, exploring new places, game nights with friends and trail-running with my dog.
